If your handbag is worth less than the sum insured you have chosen (from £800 up to £2,500) you automatically have cover for accessories carried in the handbag up to the sum insured (but see the limit of cover for each item).

Yes and you can select a sum insured from £800 up to £2,500.

What is the most I can insure my handbag for?
£2,500 is the answer, but you can contact our administrator, Berkeley Alexander, on 0845 355 1150 and explain you want to insure your handbag for more than the £2,500 limit and they will help you if possible.

Does the sum insured I insure for automatically include the accessories?
Yes, but the maximum sum insured you can select is £2,500 which is the most that would be paid by the insurance company in the event of a claim.

What is the maximum cover for each accessory I carry in my handbag?
Accessories are part of the total you insure. So, if your handbag is worth £300 and you have selected cover for £1000 your accessories are insured up to £700 (i.e. £300 for the handbag, £700 for the accessories) but bear in mind each accessory has a single article limit. A list of accessories follows with the single article limit. You do not have to specify which accessory you will carry in your handbag.

Where am I covered?
You are insured anywhere in the UK and up to 60 days worldwide. If you are going to spend more than 60 days abroad contact our administrator, Berkeley Alexander, on 0845 355 1150 and tell them. They will help you with a Travel Insurance.

What does "All Risks" cover mean?
It means you are covered for accidental loss or damage.

Is theft covered?
Yes, but you must take reasonable care of your handbag.

What if I have more than one handbag?
You do not have to specify your handbag manufacturer or design details. Any one handbag is insured that you have with you at any time.

Are my accessories insured if they are stolen?
Accessories are only insured WHEN YOUR HANDBAG IS STOLEN and they are inside your handbag and up to the total sum insured you have chosen.

Can I extend my basic handbag cover to include money and credit cards?
Yes, money up to a sum insured of £250 and credit cards for unauthorised use up to a sum insured of £400 when your handbag is stolen at the same time. You can insure money and credit cards as an extension of the basic handbag cover (see Key Facts and Policy for exclusions)

Can I extend my basic handbag cover to include a mobile phone?
Yes, up to a sum insured of £400. You can insure your mobile phone as an extension of the basic handbag cover (see Key Facts and Policy for exclusions) when your handbag is stolen at the same time.

If I accidentally lose my handbag is it insured?
Yes it is but you must always take reasonable care and read the exclusions (see policy and Key Facts)

Is bag-snatching covered?
Yes.

What does it mean "You get the first month free"?
Some shops and suppliers are able to provide your with a special introductory offer and will give a promotional code to be inserted in the quote process. This offer differs depending on the payment method you decide to use:

• If you pay for the full annual premium by card, you will not be charged for the equivalent of one month’s worth of premium.
• If you decide to pay by Direct Debit, please note that we reduce your total premium by the equivalent sum of one month, resulting in 12 cheaper monthly payments.
